Description of product: The Medline Disposable Self-Releasing Alarm Belts are designed to provide
the earliest possible Warning* that a patient is at risk of exiting the chair. Monitoring starts as
soon as both straps are fastened. The alarm is activated* the instant the first layer of hook & loop*
(yellow handle) is unfastened and the secondary release helps provide additional time before a
patient can exit the chair.
Single Patient Use. Keep Dry. Not Made with Natural Rubber Latex.
CAUTION:
• Disposable chair alarm belts are a non-invasive way to monitor patient movement. However,
these devices DO NOT prevent falls and are not a substitute for good nursing care and regular
visual monitoring.
• Read this entire instruction sheet and save for future reference. Before use, read and follow
all instructions for your Medline Alarm
Instruction for use:
1. Sit patient upright in chair or wheelchair.
2. Place belt around patient's waist with straps toward rear of each side of the chair (Fig. 1).
3. Connect both straps.
4. Position strap ends behind the chair back as low as possible so the belt cannot slide up off the
chair. Thread strap through the top of the plastic d-d-ring (Fig. 2), then thread the strap back
through the bottom of the plastic d-d-ring(Fig. 3).
5. Pull strap until belt is snug, but does not cause any discomfort to patient. You should be able
to slide your open hand (flat) between the belt and the patient (Fig. 4).
6. Attach loose end of strap to secured belt using small patch of hook on pointed strap end. This
will help prevent the excess strap from touching the floor (Fig. 5).
7. Connect cord to alarm jack. Route cord to prevent tripping hazard and away from chair
mechanism (as applicable).
Releasing Belt & Testing alarm:
1. Release belt by pulling on yellow strap* (Fig. 6). This will set off the fall alarm. To stop alarming,
re-connect the yellow strap*. Press hook-and-loop tightly together for proper operation.
2. Continue to the green strap* and pull to release belt from patient (Fig. 7).
Single patient use disposable:
This product is single patient use disposable, when a patient gets discharged properly dispose
of the product per facility policy for BIOHAZARDOUS material.
Limited warranty:
This product is warrantied for 30 days from the date of first use.
Storage and handling:
This device is designed for use in normal indoor environments. This device may
be stored in ambient warehouse temperatures at normal humidity levels. Avoid
excess moisture of high humidity that may damage product materials.
WARNING: TO REDUCE RISK OF SEVER INJURY OR DEATH:
• Check that alarm is on and the alarm belt/alarm system is working properly EACH TIME
before leaving patient unattended. Pull yellow strap* to activate alarm then re-connect for
monitoring. STOP USE IMMEDIATELY* if alarm fails to sound.

Medline sont conçues pour émettre le plus tôt possible un avertissement* signalant que le
patient risque de quitter son fauteuil. La surveillance débute dès que les deux courroies sont
attachées. L'alarme est activée* dès que la première bande Velcro* (jaune) est détachée tandis

que le détachement de la seconde bande vous donne plus de temps pour intervenir avant que
le patient puisse quitter le fauteuil.
Usage réservé à un seul patient. Conserver au sec. N'est pas fait de latex de caoutchouc naturel.
MISE EN GARDE :
• Les ceintures avec alarme à déclenchement automatique jetables constituent un
moyen non invasif de surveiller les mouvements du patient. Cependant, ces dispositifs

ne préviennent PAS les chutes et ne remplacent pas de bons soins infirmiers et une
surveillance visuelle régulière.
• Lire entièrement ce feuillet et le conserver pour référence future. Lire avant utilisation
et suivre toutes les instructions relatives à l'alarme Medline.
Mode d'emploi :
1. Faire asseoir le patient sur la chaise ou dans le fauteuil roulant.
3 2. Placer la ceinture autour de la taille du patient avec les courroies orientées vers l'arrière
de chaque côté du fauteuil (Fig. 1).
3. Attacher les deux courroies.
4. Placer les extrémités des courroies aussi bas que possible derrière le dossier du fauteuil
pour empêcher la ceinture de glisser et de se dégager par le haut. Enfiler le bout de la
courroie pointue dans les deux anneaux en D en plastique de l'autre courroie (Fig. 2), puis la
ramener par-dessus un anneau et à travers l'autre (Fig. 3).

5. Tirer la courroie jusqu'à ce que la ceinture soit ajustée, mais sans serrer ou gêner le patient.
Il faut pouvoir glisser la main ouverte (à plat) entre la ceinture et le patient (Fig. 4).
6. Attacher l'extrémité libre de la courroie à la ceinture ainsi fixée en collant la petite partie Velcro
sur l'extrémité de la courroie pointue. Cela empêchera la courroie de toucher le sol (Fig. 5).
7. Brancher le cordon à la prise d'alarme. Acheminer le cordon de façon à prévenir tout risque
de trébuchement, à l'écart du mécanisme du fauteuil (le cas échéant).
