Fault
Device switches off auto-
matically
The device builds up no
pressure, or insufficient
pressure or the jet pul-
sates
The device is leaking
22
Cause
The device or the battery pack
is overheated/too cold.
The nozzle hole of the flat jet nozzle is
dirty.
The water supply is too low.
The water reservoir is empty.
The water supply via the suction hose is
insufficient.
The sealing ring on the coupling is dam-
aged.
The fine filter is dirty.
The outlet valve in the water reservoir is
dirty.
The medium pressure hose is not
plugged into the device.
The sealing ring on the nozzle of the me-
dium pressure hose is damaged.
The sealing ring on the coupling is dam-
aged.
The device leaks a small amount for
technical reasons.
Rectification
1. Remove the battery pack from the device
and let it cool down, see chapter .
2. Observe the maximum ambient tempera-
ture, see Technical data.
3. Do not place the device and the battery
pack in the sun or operate/store them out-
side the permissible ambient temperature.
1. Remove the dirt from the nozzle hole with
a needle.
2. Flush the flat jet nozzle from the front with
water.
1. Open the water tap completely.
2. Check the water inlet for sufficient flow
rate.
1. Fill the water reservoir with clean, cold
clear water.
1. Only use the KÄRCHER SH 5 suction
hose.
2. Vent the suction hose and the device, see
Suck water from open containers.
3. Lay the suction hose without kinks.
4. Pull the trigger all the way to the end stop.
5. Reduce the suction height, for maximum
suction height see Technical data.
6. Still no water is still sucked in: Connect the
device to a water line and operate it for
approx. 1 min. Then install and vent the
suction hose again, see Suck water from
open containers.
1. Replace the sealing ring.
1. Clean the fine filter, see Cleaning the fine
filter.
1. Clean the outlet valve, see Cleaning the
outlet valve in the water reservoir.
1. Do not release the medium pressure hose
from the device while the device is con-
nected to the water supply or inserted in
the water reservoir.
2. Disconnect the water supply or remove the
device from the water reservoir before re-
leasing the medium pressure hose from
the device, see Water removal from water
reservoir.
1. Replace the sealing ring.
1. Replace the sealing ring.
1. In case of more serious leaks, have the de-
vice checked by KÄRCHER Service.
