5.3 FITTING THE SEAT (ONLY FOR MODEL
TYPE "III")
Install the seat following the instruc-
tions in the following order.
1. Smear oil over the 4 sliding runners (fig. 3.G).
2. Prepare the 4 screws (M8 x 40) by inserting
them in the spring lock washers and bushes.
See (fig. 3.L).
3. Lift the seat support (fig. 3.M) to an upright
position.
4. Bring the seat towards the support and insert
the assembly (fig. 3.L) in the slot (fig. 3.N) on
the support.
5. Make sure the seat is right up against the
support and position it so that the holes for
the fixing screws are about halfway along the
sliding runners.
6. Insert and tighten the 4 screws (fig. 3.L).
7. Fasten the screws, tightening torque 20÷25
Nm.
Tightening the screws to a torque over
25 Nm, will damaged the seat.
8. Connect the seat connector (fig. 3.E) to the
wiring connector (fig. 3.F).
If the connectors are not connected the
machine will not work.
9. Assemble the plug protection cover (fig. 3.O
by the screws (fig. 3.I)
10. Move the protection to the side of seat su-
spension (fig. 3.P) and fix with the fastening
clip (fig. 3.Q)
11. Pass the wiring cable in the fastening clip
(3.H) to hold it in position.
12. Lift down the seat to the lowest position.
5.3.1 Bellow installation
1. Fasten the seat in place with the two screws
(fig. 3.T).
2. Position the bellows (fig. 3.R).
3. Secure the bellows in place with the 10 pegs
(fig. 3.S).
For disassembly follow the instruction
in the reversed order
5.4 FITTING THE SIDE DISCHARGE
CHUTE (ONLY FOR MODELS OF TYPE
"I", "II")
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
The side discharge chute is an integral part of
the machine safety devices and must never be
removed except for reasons of storage space or
to replace it in the event of breakage. The side
discharge chute must always be installed and
efficient before starting work.
1. From the inside of the side discharge chute
(fig. 4.A), fit the spring (fig. 4.B) by inserting
the terminal (fig. 4.B.1) into the hole and
turning it so that both the spring (fig. 4.B)
and the terminal (fig. 4.B.2) are securely
positioned in their seatings.
2. Position the side discharge chute (fig. 4.A)
in line with the cutting-means assembly
brackets (fig. 4.C). Using a screwdriver, turn
the second terminal (fig. 4.B.2) of the spring
(fig. 4.B) to bring it outside the side discharge
chute.
3. Fit the pin (fig. 4.D) in the holes on the
brackets (fig. 4.C) and on the side discharge
chute, so that it passes through the coils of
the spring (fig. 4.B) and the drilled end comes
out of the inner most bracket.
4. Insert the cotter pin (fig. 4.E) in the pin
(fig. 4.D) hole (fig. D.1) and rotate the pin until
it is possible to bend the two ends (fig. 4.E.1)
of the cotter pin, (with the aid of a pair of
pliers), so it cannot slide out and cause the
pin to fall out (fig. 4.D).
CAUTION
Check that the spring works correctly and keep
the side discharge chute securely lowered. Make
sure that the pin is fitted properly to prevent it
from falling out accidentally. Make sure that the
side discharge guard (fig. 5.A) is lowered and
locked by the safety lever (fig. 5.B).
WARNING
Before dismantling or servicing the deflector,
remember to push the safety lever (fig. 6.B) and
lift the side discharge guard (fig. 6.A) to facilitate
its removal.
NOTE
To dismantle the deflector, follow the sequence in
reverse order of assembly.
