8. Laser printers, due to their excessive power consumption, should not be connected to the UPS.
9. To avoid the risk of fire, only replace the fuse with a fuse of the same type and rating.
10. For plug-in appliances, the power socket must be installed near the device and easily accessible.
About batteries
1. It is recommend to only have a qualified technician replace the batteries.
2. Before carrying out any inspection or maintenance, disconnect the batteries and check that there
are no dangerous currents or voltages across the terminals of high-capacity capacitors such as DC
BUS capacitors.
3. Do not dispose of batteries in a fire, as they may explode. At the end of their useful life, they must
be disposed of separately in compliance with local laws and regulations.
4. Do not open or damage the batteries! They contain a sulfuric acid-based electrolyte that can be
toxic and harmful to skin and eyes. If in contact with the electrolyte, thoroughly rinse the affected
body parts with water and wash any contaminated clothing.
5. The UPS contains several high-capacity batteries. To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not open
any battery. Contact your distributor if a battery needs inspection or replacement.
6. Battery intervention must be carried out or supervised by authorized and competent personnel,
taking the necessary precautions. Do not allow unauthorized persons to work on batteries.
7. A battery has a high short-circuit current and may cause an electrical arc and short circuits. The
following precautions must be taken by the qualified technician:
Do not wear rings, watches or other metal objects.
▪
Use tools with insulated handles.
▪
Disconnect power and output plugs before disconnecting or connecting battery terminals.
▪
Batteries must be replaced with the same type of sealed lead batteries.
▪
Wear gloves.
▪
Do not place tools or metal parts on the batteries.
▪
To reduce the risk of electric shock, remove battery ground connections during installation
▪
and maintenance. If it is determined that any part of the batteries is grounded, remove the
ground connection.
8. To avoid the risk of fire, replace the fuse only with one of the same type and rating.
9. Do not disassemble the UPS.
10. Perform a monthly battery discharge to prevent premature aging. It is recommended to perform a
discharge lasting 5 to 10 minutes to regenerate the internal chemical reaction of the battery. This
allows testing the battery pack's efficiency and performing preventive maintenance of your UPS.
