Maintenance
Always stop the blower prior to repair and maintenance
and avoid unintentional start of the blower.
Retightening
On a new blower all bolts and screws are to be
retightened after the first working day. Apart from that
make sure that they are tight at all times.
Cleaning
Check regularly the surfaces of the blower/motor for
dust and other impurities. If the dust layer is more
than 0.5 mm / 0.02") thick, it must be removed. It will
depend on the dust content in the blower surroundings,
how often it is necessary to check/clean the blower/
motor.
Greasing
Except from TRL 500, all bearings on all TRL blowers
have been greased from the factory and do not need
any further greasing.
TRL 500 only: Grease the bearings on the blower
belt side every 200 working hours. Use a lithium base
grease of minimum quality as Mobil Mobilux EP2 or
Esso Beacon EP2. Regrease with approx. 20 cm
20 gram (1.2 cub.in.) each time. Never overgrease the
bearings. If the casing is filled with too much grease,
the bearings will get hot.

Belt adjustment
Check V-belt tension regularly.
New V-belts normally require adjustment after the first
1-2 hours of work.
Then check the belt tension each 500 hours of
operation. Note that under difficult operation conditions
it can be necessary to check the belt tension more
often.
20
The tension of the V-belt can be checked when the
cover of the belt guard is removed. Remember to put
the cover back in place before starting the blower.
Deflecting one of the V-belts as indicated in the below
table can check the tension of the V-belt. If the tension
is correct, the force must be as indicated. Use, for
instance, a tension tester to check the belts.

*) TRL 100 for 60 Hz has direct drive.
Example: If it is put a force on one of the V-belts on a
TRL 200 to give it a deflection of 9 mm (0.35") and the
force used is between 1.9 and 2.8 kg (4.2 and 6.2 lb),
the tension is correct. If the force is less, the V-belts
need to be tightened.

Check the tension of all the belts. If it is not possible
to adjust one set of belts so that all the belts have the
proper tension the whole set must be replaced.
