The following precautions must be observed when working with batteries:
- Remove watches, rings, or other metal objects from hands.
- Use tools with insulated handles.
- Use gloves and rubber boots.
- Do not place tools or metal parts on the batteries.
- Disconnect the charging source before connecting or disconnecting the
battery terminals.
- Battery service must be performed or supervised by personnel familiar with
batteries and necessary precautions. Keep unauthorized personnel away
from batteries.
- When replacing batteries, replace them with the same number and type of
sealed lead-acid battery. The maximum ambient temperature is 40.
- This plug-in type A equipment with a battery installed by the supplier can
be installed by the operator and can be operated by non-specialized per-
sonnel.
- During the installation of this equipment, ensure that the sum of leakage
currents from the UPS and connected loads does not exceed 3.5 mA.
- Attention, danger of electrical shock. Even when disconnecting this unit
from the electrical network, dangerous voltage can still be accessible
through the battery power supply. Therefore, the battery power supply
must be disconnected at the positive and negative poles of the battery
when maintenance or service work within the UPS is necessary.
- The mains power socket supplying the UPS must be installed near the UPS
and must be easily accessible.
