CONSTRUCTION AND PURPOSE
The planer is a battery-powered hand-held power tool. The device is
driven by a commutator motor. The planer is designed for slicing the
surface of wood and wood-based products. Its areas of use are
renovation and construction work, carpentry and all work in the area of
independent amateur activity (DIY).
CAUTION: Do not misuse the power tool.
OPERATION OF THE DEVICE
Preparation for work
CAUTION Always remove the battery from the tool when assembling
parts, making adjustments, cleaning or when the tool is not in use for a
long period of time. Removing the battery prevents accidental starting,
which can cause serious injury. Do not use any attachments or
accessories not recommended by the manufacturer of this product. Use
of non-recommended attachments or accessories may cause serious
injury
DUST BAG
CAUTION: Collected dust from coatings processed by the planer, such as
polyurethanes, or containing linseed oil, etc., can spontaneously ignite in
the dust bag or elsewhere and cause a fire. To reduce the risk of fire,
always empty the dust bag frequently when planing. NEVER store or leave
the planer without completely emptying the dust bag. Coating
manufacturers' recommendations should also be followed.
CHANGING THE DIRECTION OF DUST EJECTION
• Dust ejection to the right: Move the ejection direction change lever so
that the arrow points to the right fig. B2. Install the dust bag on the right-
hand spigot fig. A12.
• Dust ejection to the left: Move the lever to change the direction of
ejection so that the arrow points to the left fig. B3. Install the dust bag
on the left spigot fig. A2
FITTING THE DUST BAG
Attach the dust bag to the right-hand spigot fig.A12 or left-hand spigot
fig.A2 by sliding the dust bag flange onto the spigot.
NOTE: Check that the dust bag is connected to the spigot according
to the selected ejection direction on the ejection direction lever.
NOTE: The dust bag fills up quickly. Empty it frequently to prevent
damage.
CONNECTION OF PLANER TO HOOVER
The chip collection system of the planer has an opening compatible with
the hoover hose. If not, a suitable adapter must be used.
• Remove the dust bag if connected to the planer.
• Connect the vacuum hose to the left or right spigot of the planer.
• Set the dust ejection direction lever to the selected spigot.
• Start the hoover and then the planer, you can start working with the
device.
STARTING/STOPPING THE JET
• To start the planer: Press the accidental start lock button fig. A3 and
then press the switch trigger fig. A4.
• To stop the planer: Release the switch trigger Fig. A4.
SUPPORT
The planer is equipped with an automatic support fig. C2, which prevents
the knives from coming into contact with the work table when the planer is
not in use. When the planer starts planing, the support automatically aligns
itself with the plane of the planer's work foot fig. A10 when it passes the
edge of the workpiece. After passing the edge or picking up the planer and
placing it on the work table, the stand automatically pivots down to prevent
the blades (they may still be spinning) from coming into contact with the
work surface.
WARNING:
Ensure that the stand operates freely at all times and that the area around
it is free of debris. Failure to do so could cause serious injury.
PLANING DEPTH
When starting to level the workpiece, the planer will only remove the
highest irregularities at first. Subsequent passes will remove more and
more material. Removing no more than 0.3mm with each pass will
produce the smoothest finish. Always start by doing test work on a scrap
piece of wood to ensure that the planer is removing the desired amount of
wood.
To set the planing depth:
• -Remove the battery.
• -Turn
the depth adjustment knob Fig. C1 clockwise to set the
desired depth of cut. The maximum depth of cut is 1.5 mm.
NOTE : Use only locked depth settings. Attempting to cut with depth
settings between locked positions may result in an uneven cut.
NOTE! : To protect the blades during storage, transport, etc., turn the
depth adjustment knob fig. C1 counterclockwise to position 0 on the
collection depth scale to lock the blade.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE PLANER
• - Fix the workpiece firmly.
• - Make sure there are no nails, staples or screws in the material to
be planed.
• - Attach the material so that the work runs on your correct side (right
or left-handed).
• - Set the recommended or optimum planing depth.
• - Hold the planer with both hands, one by the depth control knob and
the other hand holding the main handle.
• - Remember to wear personal protective equipment
NOTE!
Planing too fast results in a poor finish and increases chip accumulation in
the chip outlet. Accumulated chips restrict airflow and can cause the
engine to overheat.
WARNING:
Do not attempt to clear a blocked chip outlet until the blades have stopped
and you have disconnected the planer from the power source. Failure to
heed this warning could result in serious personal injury.
WARNING:
• Always use two hands on the tool during any operation; this ensures
you maintain control and avoid the risk of serious injury. Always support
and lock the work properly so that both hands can control the planer
freely.
• Never operate the tool overhead or inverted from the correct working
position; this can cause serious injury.
- Place the front foot on the edge of the material to be planed.
NOTE: Make sure that the blades do not touch the workpiece.
- Press the depth adjustment knob so that the front foot is completely flat
on the work surface.
- Start the planer and allow the engine to reach maximum speed.
- Hold the planer firmly and move it forward into the workpiece in a slow,
steady motion. Empty the dust bag frequently.
- When you reach the end of the planed material, push down on the main
handle. This helps to keep the rear of the planer foot in contact with the
workpiece and prevents the front of the planer from creating bumps.
WARNING:
Be careful not to step on nails or staples during the planing
operation; this action may cause injury, breakage or damage to the
blades.
We recommend that you always keep an extra set of blades on hand. As
soon as the blades in the planer start to become dull, they should be
replaced. The blades are reversible and can be reversed until both sides
are dull.
EDGE BEVELLING
The planer is equipped with a chamfer groove in the front foot Fig. D7,
which is used to chamfer the edges of the boards. Before cutting on the
target material, practice cutting on the waste to determine the amount of
material to be removed.
• - Firmly clamp the workpiece.
• - Hold the depth control knob with one hand and the main handle
with the other.
• - Apply the chamfering groove fig. D7 to the surface to be machined.
• - Start the planer and allow the motor to reach maximum speed.
• - Hold the planer firmly and, in a slow, steady motion, push it forward
into the surface to be worked on.
