ELAPSED TIME indicator
During
playback,
this indicator
displays
the elapsed
time
in
minutes and seconds from the beginning of the current track. The
indicator is reset to 0:00 at the beginning of the next track.

REPEAT indicator
@
PROGRAM
indicator
This indicator
is illuminated
continuously
during
programmed
playback. This indicator flashes during programming and when the
CALL button is pressed.
@
Error display
The "E" display under DISC NO. indicates an error in disc loading.
The "E" display in the upper position under TRACK NO. indicates an
error in reading the data from the disc.
LOADING DISCS IN THE DISC MAGAZINE
PRECAUTIONS FOR USE
Always handle the magazine carefully, whether discs are inserted
or not. Do not allow it to be dropped or subject to rough handling.
Never attempt to open the magazine itself or make alterations to
the magazine's internal parts.
When inserting or removing discs, the magazine should always be
held horizontally to prevent the discs from falling out.
WHEN STORING THE MAGAZINE
® Magazines should be stored away from heat, humidity and dust.
Never allow them to come in contact with water. Do not store them
in direct sunlight or inside a parked automobile. Avoid sources of
heat, vibration.
@ Always insert magazines into their protective case with the disc
tray assembly inside the case, and the spine (where the label is
attached) on the outside.
® Do not stack the magazines horizontally or place heavy objects
on them, as this can lead to damage of the magazines' internal
parts.
Disc insertion
1. Place the magazine on a flat surface with the top side (the side
with the arrow (=>) at the edge) up. Press the button marked "PUSH
EJECT" on the side of the magazine to eject the disc trays. Rotate
the disc trays out to the fully open position.
2. The top tray is number 5, the bottom tray number 1. Place the
discs on the desired trays label side up. Load tray number 5 first
and rotate into the magazine. Repeat for trays 4 through 1.
Note: it is not necessary to load all the disc trays, any number from
1 through 5 disc may be loaded.
Removing discs from the magazine
1. Place the magazine on a flat surface with the top side (the side
with the arrow (>) at the edge) up. Press the marked "PUSH EJECT"
on the side of the magazine to eject the disc trays. Rotate the disc
trays out to the fully open position.
2. Remove the desired discs.
LOADING THE DISC MAGAZINE
Before turning on the power, be sure that all transport screws have
been removed from the bottom of the DP-309/DP-409R.
1. Turn on the player power.
The following will be displayed.
2. Load the magazine into the disc magazine slot with the arrow
(=>) mark up and forward. The DISC SET indicator is illuminated
and displays the location and number of the disc loaded in the
magazine.
