9.4. STRAIGHT CUT (Fig. 7)
The parallel cutting guide 18 allows cutting along an
existing straight edge as well as cutting straight bars
of the same width (Fig. 7.1).
• Loosen the wing screws 8 (Fig. 1).
• Position the parallel cutting guide 18 (Fig. 7.1).
• Set the necessary cutting distance.
• Tighten the wing screws 8 (Fig. 1) to fix the guide bar
18 (Fig. 1) for circular/parallel sawing.
• Cut by pressing the parallel cutting guide 18 against
the side edge of the piece to be cut.
Similar results can be obtained by atta-
ching a plate to a workpiece with screw
clamps and using that plate as a secondary
limit stop. Make the cut by moving the
power tool along the limit stop while
pressing the side of the base plate 11 (Fig.
1) against the side of the plate (Fig. 7.2).
9.5. CUT ENTRY WITHOUT DRILL
It will be possible to make cuts in wood without a
prior drill, by slowly letting the saw blade penetrate
the material with the machine running. However, this
requires some experience.
Support the front edge of the base plate 11 (Fig. 5) by
tilting the machine upwards, and connect it. Hold the
machine firmly and forcefully against the workpiece
and lower it slowly so that the saw blade penetrates
the workpiece. Once the material is penetrated, place
the machine in the normal working position, so that
the base plate sits with its entire surface and continue
sawing according to the trace. When finished sawing,
first disconnect the machine from the power supply and
then remove the saw blade from the saw cut.

11. MAINTENANCE AND CARE
Always make sure the machine is discon-
nected from the mains before performing
any operation.
• Saw blade inspection: Only sharp blades in perfect
condition should be used. Cracked, bent or jagged saw
blades should be immediately replaced.
14
• Inspect the mounting screws: Regularly inspect all
the mounting screws and ensure they are firmly tighte-
ned. Should any screw be loose, tighten it immediately.
Failure to do so could put you at serious risk.
• Motor maintenance: Always take the greatest care
over this and make sure that the motor winding is not
damaged and/or becomes wet with oil or water.
• Always keep the vents clean and free of obstruction.
• Clean the machine thoroughly after each use. Blast
the motor regularly with compressed air.
• The saw blade retaining lever ("Quick Fix" systems) must
be regularly cleaned, especially when sawing material
which produces large amounts of dust. This will ensure
correct retaining lever operation.
• The saw blade guide should be lubricated now and
again with a drop of oil and, at the same time, checked
for wear. If it is worn, after prolonged use, it should be
replaced at the VIRUTEX Technical Assistance Centre.
• Check that the mains cable is in good condition. If it is
not, take it to an Official Service Centre to have it
replaced.
• Greasing
(to be performed by an official technician)
The screws on the gear head must not be loosened
during the warranty period. Otherwise the warranty
will be invalid.
The grease should be renewed after 1,500 hours of use.
