TORQUE CONTROL
By turning the torque selection ring 6, it is possible to adjust the amount of torque.
(1) Rotate the torque setting ring to the desired setting.
The torque setting will help you regulate the driving power when using a screwdriver bit. This will help to prevent damage to the
workpiece and/or screw.
Note: selecting a higher torque setting will allow the drill to use more torque to drive the screw in or out. To prevent damaging
the screw head, it is recommended to start at a low torque setting and increase when necessary make the setting as follows:
(1) Settings 1-25 provide a facility for setting the torque to the required level. For example, this means that repetitive driving of
screws of the same size will be driven into the material to the same torque, thus giving the same fixing strength, or in the case
of countersunk screws, these will all be driven to the same depth in the material. The torque control prevents the heads of small
diameter screws being twisted off when correctly set.
(2) By turning the selector 5 it is possible to switch between rotary drilling, percussion drilling and screwdriving functions.
Set the "twist drill" setting
, for rotary drilling;
for "hammer drill" select
and the percussion feature will come into action - this is intended for drilling into masonry, etc.
Turn the collar to the
setting to use the drill for screwdriving.
