Connection of cable to vehicle
Connect the other end of the cable to the diagnostic socket of the vehicle. The location of
this socket is indicated in each instruction booklet.

Connection of crocodile clips (if present)
Connect red clip to battery positive
Connect black clip to battery negative.

Connection to the vehicle causes the handset to be switched on.
If there is no response from the ECU, try another socket on the vehicle. There may be several
sockets of the same type with different functions.
Saving screens
When using an X 8000 pod (designed for 4-line display) , any screen displayed can be saved by
pressing the M key . The memory capacity is 100 screens.
To clear the memory go to the « CLEAR MEMORY» option in the menu, and confirm by pressing OK
When beginning each new test you can insert a title page with a different number.
For example «TEST 1, TEST 2, TEST 3, etc...»
WARNING !
Do not insert or remove the pod while the X.8000 is powered up, since the memory content will be
corrupted.
Pick and mix component screen
Depending on the symptoms exhibited by the vehicle it is desirable to display simultaneously 4
component values chosen by the operator.
Having confirmed the «COMPONENTS» option, you will see the first four component values.

When you press the OK key a cursor appears on the first character of the first line, so that you can
see which line can be modified.
To choose another line, press OK again and the cursor will go down one line.

The line identified by the cursor can display any component value which is being transmitted by the
ECU if you press the back key or forward key.
After 5 seconds the cursor disappears so that it does not limit the legibility of the screen.
If you keep the OK key pressed down for more than 2 seconds a screen providing complementary
information on that component is shown for 10 seconds.
