Pump element operation
The AECP is a single-stroke, spring-based
pump with a motor driving the eccentric (12)
that keeps the eccentric in constant contact
with the plunger (13)
The compression spring (14) pushes the
plunger (13) to open a lubricant passage,
creating a vacuum that primes the pump
with lubricant from the reservoir The check
valve (15) closes to isolate supply lines in the
system (→ Fig. 5)
The eccentric (12) pushes the plunger (13)
in the opposite direction to pump lubricant,
developing the operating pressure The
check valve (15) opens to pass lubricant to
the supply lines (→ Fig. 6) The pump
element has a lateral outlet for lubricant
cross-porting to internal body passages to
relief valve (7)
