OPERATION
Antenna controller connection
Refer to the illustration [5] @ through ® on page 18.
@ Check that your radio or radio cassette recorder has an external
antenna (EXT ANT) terminal. If it does, fully loosen the screw of the
terminal with a screwdriver or a similar device. To connect the sup-
plied antenna coupler to the external antenna terminal, align the
marks my andy.
SW reception
Receiver with an external SW antenna terminal:
@ Connect the RK-69A connecting cord (supplied) to the ANC-1
external/telescopic
antenna
coupler (supplied), and connect
it
to the external antenna terminal on the receiver.
Connect the aligator clips (red clip for the antenna terminal and
black clip for the ground terminal) of the RK-36A connecting
cord (supplied) to the external antenna terminal on the receiver.
Receiver without an external SW antenna terminal:
© Connect the RK-69A connecting cord (supplied) to the ANC-1
external/telescopic
antenna
coupler, and insert it fully to the
base of the telescopic antenna of the receiver.
@ When the coaxial cable is extended outside the building, the
covering of the cable may receive the signals. In this case, the
. setting of the switches on the antenna controller has no effect
on the reception.
LW/MW reception
Receiver with a ferrite bar antenna:
© Connect the RK-69A connecting cord (supplied) to the ANC-2
ferrite bar antenna coupler (supplied), and place it as near as
possible behind the receiver so that the best reception is ob-
tained.
@ When
the receiver
has an external
antenna
terminal
for
LW/MW, the antenna can be installed with the method
@ or ®,
but method ©) is recommended for optimum reception.
HOW TO RECEIVE
Pull the telescopic antenna out to its full length.
Refer to the iilustration [6] on page 18.
@ Turn on the power of the receiver.
® Set the POWER switch on the antenna controller to ON.
© Set the
FREQ
RANGE
selector
to LW/MW/SW
and
the ATT
switch to OdB.
© Tune in the desired station on the receiver.
© Set the FREQ RANGE selector and the ATT switch to the appro-
priate position so that the optimum reception is obtained.
@ After use, turn off the power of the antenna controller and the
recevier.
For the better reception
Adjust the angle of the antenna so that the noise is reduced and
the optimum signal reception is obtained. Refer to the illustration
on page 18.
FREQ RANGE (frequency range) selector
ae ietiz: 10 receive LW, MW stations and good-condition signals
of SW stations.
When the LW or MW station or noise is received while
receiving the SW station.

of a strong station signal such as from a local station or when the
weak station is interrupted by the strong station, set to ''-20dB".
