NOTE: Your trimmer offers the ability to release the cutting line while the motor is
running. Simply tap the bump knob on the ground to release the frayed or worn line
(Fig.7). Regularly check the condition of your line and release it as needed to avoid

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
Regular inspection is the most important step to proper maintenance. By following the
guidelines below, you can maximize the safety, durability, and effectiveness of your
string trimmer. Should you identify any damaged or excessively worn parts, replace
them immediately.
Remove the battery pack from the string trimmer before inspecting, cleaning, or
performing maintenance.
When servicing, use only identical replacement parts and accessories.
Never let petroleum-based products, penetrating oils, etc., come in contact with plastic
parts.
NOTE: For repairs and service, please work with an authorized service dealer, which can be
located by calling 800-541-7027.
7.1 REPLACING THE CUTTING LINE
This model uses a nylon line with a diameter of 0.095 inches (2.3mm).
Never use a line that has not been approved for this machine. Metal-reinforced lines,
wire, and rope will not function properly with your machine.
NOTE: The cutting line is about 4.4 yards (4m) in length.
1. Align the arrow on the bump knob with the one on the spool cartridge. (Fig.8A)
2. Insert the cutting line into the eyelet that is marked "LINE IN" on the spool. (Fig.8B)
3. The end of the line appears in the opposite eyelet of the spool. Pull both ends of the line
until they are of equal length.
4. Hold the line cartridge with one hand and turn the bump knob counterclockwise with the
other hand, until both ends are approximately 6 inches long. (Fig.8C)
