5. Before using the equipment
Warning!
Always remove the battery pack before making
adjustments to the equipment.
5.1 Fitting the dust collection box (Fig. 2/
Item 3)
•
Fit the dust collection box (3) on the dust ex-
traction adapter (2) by turning it gently as far
as the notch (a) as shown in Fig. 2.
•
The dust is extracted directly into the dust
bag (4) through the abrasive paper and the
oscillating plate (3).
•
To remove the dust collection box, pull and
twist it at the same time.
•
Using the dust extraction adapter (2) you can
also connect the equipment directly to a sui-
table vacuum cleaner (Fig. 2b).
Caution!
For health reasons it is imperative that you use
the dust collection box or a dust extraction sys-
tem.
5.2 Emptying the dust collection box
(Fig. 3/Item 3)
•
To empty the dust collection box (3), open it
as shown in Fig. 3 and clean it thoroughly.
•
The filter is held by a bayonet fastener and
can also be removed for cleaning with com-
pressed air if necessary.
•
Then everything must be reassembled in
reverse order.
•
Finally the dust collection box (3) can be refit-
ted on the dust extraction adapter (2).
5.3 Fastening the abrasive paper with the
clamp (Fig. 4-7/ Item 4)
Use only abrasive paper with the corresponding
dimensions.
•
Lift the clamping lever (b) at the front of the
cordless palm sander.
•
Insert the abrasive paper into the open clamp
and close the lever.
•
Lay the abrasive paper over the oscillating
plate so that the paper is taut and clamp it
again at the back of the cordless palm sander
with the second clamping lever (b).
5.4 Fastening the abrasive paper with the
Hook-and-loop fastening system (Fig. 8)
•
Only use abrasive paper with the correspon-

•
Place the abrasive paper onto the oscillating
plate (4/5/6) as shown in Fig. 8. Make sure
that the perforations in the abrasive paper
coincide with the oscillating plate.
•
To remove the abrasive paper, simply pull it
off.
5.5 Replacing the sanding plate
(Fig. 9-11/Item 4/5/6)
The cordless palm sander is equipped with three
exchangeable sanding plates (square, rectangu-
lar and triangular) and can be converted to suit
the application.
To do so, use the supplied cross-head screwdri-
ver (7) to remove the four fastening screws (h) on
the bottom side of the sanding plate (Fig. 9).
The sanding plate can then be removed together
with the hook-and-loop plate (Fig. 10), after which
you can replace it with the required sanding plate
(square, rectangular or triangular) and fasten it
with the four fastening screws (h) using the cross-
head screwdriver (7).
6. Operation
6.1 Charging the Li battery pack (Fig. 12-13)
1. Remove the battery pack (c) from the handle,
pressing the pushlock button (e) downwards
to do so.
2. Check that your mains voltage is the same as
that marked on the rating plate of the battery
charger. Insert the power plug of the charger
(d) into the socket outlet. The green LED will
then begin to blink.
3. Push the battery pack onto the battery char-
ger.
In section 10 (Charger indicator) you will fi nd a
table with an explanation of the LED indicator on
the charger.
If the battery pack fails to charge, check for the
following:
•
voltage at the power socket
•
whether there is good contact at the charging
contacts of the charging unit
If the battery pack still fails to charge, send
•
the charger and charging adapter
•
and the battery pack
to our customer service center.
