Operations & Parts Manual
Dual Action Sander
Swivel-free finishes from its dual action pad motion, built-in
regulator for positive speed control, orbital sander provides a
patternless finish, Side exhaust, the black button on the handle
can adjust the flow of air, ideal for sanding jobs like feather
edging, metal preparation and blending body etc.
This sander is fitted with speed regulator, the speed will cycle
from maximum to minimum if the regulator is rotated in either
direction.
Pad Installation – To install pad, turn spindle lock, to right or left to
lock pad mounting shaft. Screw sanding pad into position. Turn
spindle lock into position to allow the shaft to spin freely. Failure
to unlock shaft will prevent the orbital sander from operating
properly.
NOTE: THIS TOOL IS NOT DESIGNED TO RUN WITH
THE PAD LOCK IN PLACE. THE PAD LOCK IS TO BE
USED ONLY WHEN ATTACHING AND REMOVING THE
PAD.
Let the sander do the work. The normal weight of tool is sufficient
for efficient sanding. Do not put additional pressure on the
sander. This will only slow down the speed of the pad, reduce
sanding efficiency and put an additional burden on the motor.
Start the sander off the work surface, set it down on the work
surface evenly and move it slowly back and forth in wide,
overlapping areas. When finished sanding, lift it off the work
surface before stopping motor.
Start the work with an abrasive grit just coarse enough to remove
high spots and roughness. Follow with additional sanding using
finer grits until the desired finish is obtained. Never go from a
coarse grit to fine grit in one step. It may be difficult to remove
swirl marks made by coarse abrasives. Use the finest grits
practical for roughing operations and finish by using successively
finer grits.
Safety goggles should be worn when operating the
sander to avoid dust and particles from entering the
eyes. Secure work with clamps or vise so both hands
are free to operate tool. Keep proper footing and
balance at all times.
WARNING:
Some dust created by power sanding, sawing, grinding, drilling,
and other construction activities contains chemicals known to
cause cancer, birth defects or reproductive harm.
Some examples of these chemicals are:
Lead form lead-based paints
Crystalline silica from bricks, cement and other masonry
products
Arsenic and chromium from chemically treated lumber
You risk from these exposures varies, depending on how often
you do this type of work. To reduce our exposure to these
chemicals, work in a well ventilated area and work with approved
safety equipment such as those dust masks that are specially
designed to filter out microscopic particles.
Die Grinder
Grinder is primarily designed for use with bonded abrasive
pointed grinding stones. It may also be used with steel rotary
files and carbide burrs, provided their speed rating matches or
exceeds the speed of the grinder.
This tool should not be fitted cut-off wheels, saw blades, drill
bits, etc. If there is any doubt about the correct use of this
product contact your supplier for advice.
Also, make sure that the size of the attachment to be driven
matches the collet size fitted to the grinder and that maximum
allowed running speed of the attachment exceeds that marked
on the grinder.
Disconnect the tool from the air supply before lubricating or
changing grinding abrasive.
To change grinding stones and/or sanding drums:
Loosen the collet nut (See parts list) using two wrenches. Insert
grinding stone or sanding drum into collet and tighten collet nut.
To attach sanding sleeve to matched sanding drum, use a
wrench or screwdriver to tighten
the nut or screw on the sanding
drum.
Note: The grinding stone's
shank and sanding drum shank
should be within sizes from
collet nut to prevent vibration.
Use accessories rated for 22,000 RPM or more. Don't
use the grinding wheel or sanding drum over 1"
diameter
Select the required grinding stone and sanding drum. NOTE:
The tool is equipped with a 1/4"&1/8" collet and uses grinding
stones and sanding drums with a 1/4"&1/8" shank size. To use
grinding stones and sanding drums with correct shank size.
This Husky Die Grinder is fitted with speed regulator, the
speed will cycle from maximum to minimum if the
regulator is rotated in either direction, Factory assembly
ensures the highest speed setting.
The speed may be reduced by rotating air regulator (15)
with a suitable screwdriver. When making speed checks,
always rotate the air regulator to the position that gives
the highest maximum speed & fixed by valve plug.
Always make sure that tool accessories meet or
exceed the tools recommended output.
