4. Setting up unit - SET UP
This new screen recorder has the operating instructions built into it !
The simple operating concept of the unit allows practical installation in a number of
applications without the need for an operating manual. The screen recorder displays
operating instructions at the touch of a push button ! This operating manual is still part
of the delivery, as an expansion of the built-in instructions. Here you can find
explanations of items that cannot be described in simple text or selection lists.
However we may make changes that will enhance the technology used. In this case
some of the details in these instructions may be obsolete. This is not a problem as the
unit will still contain its own built-in instruction manual and is therefore always up to
date !
Chapter 3 "Installation/connection/setting up" and Chapter 4 "Setting unit up -
SETUP" describe the connection of the in and outputs as well as the setting up of the
respective functions.
Chapter 5 "Functions/handling in operation" describes how the completely set up unit
can be used, how to call up various forms of information as well as how to use the
diskette drive.
The main menu is opened by operating the "E" push button:
"Signal display":
Select how the signals are to be displayed Hint: The display mode can be changed
without the need to call up the main menu. Just use the or = push button in normal
operation (also see 5. Functions/handling in operation).
"Diskette functions":
Opens window from which the following can be initiated: - update the measured value
diskette - copy the complete measured value memory to diskette, - read unit settings
from diskette, - or save the actual unit settings to diskette.
"Quick set up":
Leads the operator through the most important unit settings. This means that the unit
can be installed very swiftly. The unit automatically recognises if current or voltage
signals or RTDs are connected to the inputs.
"Detail set up":
Here the unit can be trimmed to give optimum performance. All possible setting up
parameters are available.
"Set contrast":
Dependent on the installation height the viewing angle and therefore the contrast of
the screen can be set up.
