the equipment by hand at a temperature between 30°C and
40°C using a neutral soap. For metal parts, use a damp
cloth. If the equipment gets wet, either from use or cleaning,
it should be allowed to air dry naturally in a ventilated, dark
place, away from direct heat and chemical compounds.
MAINTENANCE
A competent person must periodically inspect and maintain
PPE records on the equipment control sheet provided at the
end of this manual. Regular periodic inspections are very
important, and at least one should be performed annually
as the continuous efficiency and durability of the anchorage
element depend on it, and therefore the user's safety. It is
recommended that the equipment be inspected and tested
by a competent person for any damages or faults that
may arise, strictly following the instructions listed in the
following section. Periodic inspections should be carried
out as follows:
- Inspect the straps for any damage or cuts.
- Check for damages, breaks, or rust on all metal parts.
- Check for damages on all plastic parts.
- Check all PPE stitches.
- Record all inspection details on the equipment control
card.
- Annual inspection must be evidenced by a mark.
- Check the legibility of the equipment markings.
The equipment should be repaired only by the manufacturer
or a person authorized for this purpose, following the manu-
facturer's procedures. Repair instructions will be provided
in the official languages of the country where the equipment
is put into service.
TRANSPORTATION
Personal protective equipment must be transported in
packaging that protects it against moisture or mechanical,
chemical, and/or thermal damage. Personal protective
equipment must be stored in loose packaging, in a dry,
ventilated place, protected against sunlight, ultraviolet
rays, dust, sharp-edged objects, extreme temperatures, and
aggressive substances.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Do not make alterations or additions to the equipment
without prior written consent from the manufacturer. The
equipment should not be used beyond its limitations or for
purposes other than intended. Ensure the compatibility of
equipment elements when assembling a system, ensuring
that all items are appropriate for the intended application.
It is prohibited to use the fall protection system in which
the operation of an individual element is affected by
or interferes with the function of another. Periodically
check connections and component adjustments to prevent
accidental disconnection. If any deterioration is detected
or there is any doubt about its condition for safe use, the
personal protective equipment must be withdrawn from use
immediately. It should not be used again until a competent

person confirms in writing if it is acceptable to do so. If a
fall has been arrested, the equipment must be withdrawn
from use. It is essential for safety to verify the minimum
required free space below the user's feet
in the workplace before each use, so that in case of a fall,
there is no collision with the ground or other obstacle in the
fall path. Details of the minimum required free space are
found in the instructions for use of the respective compo-
nents of the fall arrest system.
If the product is resold outside the original destination
country, the reseller must provide instructions for use,
maintenance, periodic inspection, and repair in the language
of the country where the equipment will be used.
