Electrical Connection
1. Check that the mains voltage you want to use matches
that of the appliance. You will find the information on the
type plate.
2. Only connect the appliance to a properly installed protec-
tive contact socket.
Switching the Appliance On / Off
• Switch on (switch position: I):
Switch on the appliance with the switch. The lighting in
the water tank and in the switch lights up.
• Switching off (switch position: 0):
Switch off the appliance with the switch. The light in the
water tank and in the switch goes out.
Preparation
Before using the appliance for the first time, boil it 3 times
with fresh water. Use only clear water without additives.
Operation
1. Place the appliance on a flat surface.
2. Close the appliance with the lid. It must audibly click into
place. Always make sure that the lid is firmly closed.
3. Fill in clear water through the filler opening (max. 1.7 li-
tres). You can read the fill level on the appliance's water
level indicator.
- Always use fresh, cold water.
WARNING:
• Always switch off the appliance and disconnect the mains plug
from the socket before cleaning. Wait until the appliance has
cooled down.
• Do not immerse the appliance or the base in water or other liq-
uids. It could cause an electric shock or fire.
CAUTION:
• Do not use a wire brush or other abrasive objects.
• Do not use sharp or abrasive cleaning agents.
• Use a nylon brush to clean the filter insert at the spout
opening.
• Rinse the water reservoir with clean water. Dry it with a
cloth.
• After use, clean the lid and housing with a slightly damp
cloth.

- The water level must be between the MIN and MAX
marks.
- You do not need to remove the lid in order to fill in wa-
ter. The lid is equipped with a self-closing filler open-
ing. The flap opens automatically at water pressure.
4. Place the kettle flush on the base.
5. Switch on the appliance with the switch. The lighting in
the water tank and in the switch lights up.
Interrupting / Ending Operation
There are two ways to interrupt or end the cooking process:
1. The appliance switches off automatically after the
cooking process. The light in the water tank and in the
switch goes out.
2. To end or interrupt the cooking cycle prematurely, set the
switch to the 0 position.
- Always switch off the appliance before removing
it from the base! The contacts on the base are not
suitable for disconnecting the power supply.
- Make sure that the appliance is switched off when you
put it back on the base!
• Unplug the mains plug from the socket.
• Empty the water container.
- Only hold the appliance by the handle.
- Keep the lid closed when pouring out.
- Open and close the lid by using the handle on the lid.
• The appliance becomes hot during operation, do not
touch it and allow the appliance to cool down before
putting it away.
Cleaning
• The intervals for descaling depend on the hardness of
the water and the frequency of use.
• If the appliance switches off before the water boils,
descaling is necessary.
• Do not use vinegar, but a commercially available des-
caling agent based on citric acid. Dose according to the
instructions.
