Resetting the scale to zero
If the display still shows a minus value (symbol ) even though the weighing surface is
empty (for example, if the scale is not optimally positioned or a TARE value is still
displayed; see next section), you must reset the scale to zero.
− Briefly press OFF/TARE once.
Using the tare function (TARE)
This function is practical when baking, for example, if you would like to add another
ingredient to the ingredients already on the scale.
1. Press OFF/TARE to reset the scale to "0".
2. Add the new item or substance.
The display shows the added item weight.
3. Repeat the process whenever you would like to add more ingredients. The process
can be repeated as often as needed until the capacity limit is reached.
Hold Function
This function is particularly useful when weighing bulky items (e.g. a parcel) that
obscure the display.
The display shows the reading for about 8 seconds after removing the item from the
scale. After that, the display reverts to "0" with a preset unit of measurement.
You can also reset the scale to "0" directly by pressing OFF/TARE.
Switching off the scale
The scale will automatically switch off if it is not used for approx. 60
seconds.
1. Press and hold down OFF/TARE until the indication on the display goes out.
2. Pushing the side switch towards the USB socket shuts the scale off completely.
Cleaning
NOTE on material damage
− Do not immerse the scale in water or other liquids.
− Never use harsh, scouring or abrasive cleaning agents or the like to
clean the scale. Otherwise, the surface could be scratched.
The scale should be cleaned immediately after use, especially after its contact with fat,
spices, vinegar, and other strongly flavoured and/or coloured foodstuffs.
− Wipe the scale as needed with a slightly damp soft cloth. Avoid contact with citric
acid.
