NOTE Ensure non magnetic tools are used to avoid needing to de-magnetise the mag
head for optimal performance.
Before the Upgrade
To ensure optimal performance of the audio and keykode reader, we recommend capturing
reference audio prior to replacement so you can compare audio quality.
The following reference film types are good examples for reference audio:
‚ S16mm Bezugs BF16-10A DIN 15638 25fps multi frequency magnetic test film.
‚ S16mm SepMag film.
‚ S16mm leader. White.
‚ S16mm ComOpt SMPTE P16MF multi frequency.
‚ S35mm ComOpt SMPTE P35MF multi frequency.
‚ A suitable customer reference Combined Magnetic ComMag film.
‚ A suitable customer reference Combined Optical ComOpt film.
Make a note of the original magnetic head position. This is required for tracking check when
rebuilding the reader after performing the update. Be sure to measure from the base of the
reader to the magnetic head contact face edge. Ideally, this should be approximately 23.5mm.
