7.0 USING THE RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES
NEVER change these settings in order to prevent damages to the battery pack.
♦ Connect the charger to the jack at the rear:
♦ Press the "discharge" button until the charger's LED becomes yellow.
♦ After the discharging phase, the charger will automatically start the charging process and
the LED will become red.
♦ When the batteries will be fully charged, the LED will become green (this could take about
3 hours). The charger will apply a maintenance charge as long as it will be connected to
the microscope.
♦ Disconnect the charger's jack from the rear.
♦ Disconnect the charger from 230V line voltage.
Please note:
• After 2 hours of use at full intensity, stop using the battery power supply even if the LED illu-
minator is still on: excessive discharge may damage the batteries.
• Batteries are subject to self-discharge: after 30 days of inactivity a full charge drops to 40%
of capacity, so it's suggested to recharge the battery pack as described above.
• While the battery pack is charging, it's still possible to use the microscope from line voltage,
setting the main switch to position I.
Replacing the internal battery pack
Use ONLY this type of battery: AA NiMH 1.2V, capacity at least 2500mAh
After about 500 cycles of charge/discharge, the internal batteries lose their capacity and the auto-
nomy begins to decrease. In order to replace the batteries, follow these steps:
