Invacare® Banjo™P452E/3
Invacare presume a healthcare professional has made an
individual assessment of the user to determine his risk level
or therapy requirements. Providers and carers have assessed
that the product gives the required support and that its
adjustments are appropriate for the user. Carer and user
have been appropriately trained by a healthcare professional
on how to use the product correctly and safely.

4.2 Assembling the Walking Aid

Before assembly, remove the plastic crossbar between the
rear wheels and the plastic caps in the side tubes.
1. Attach the bolt B and the washer C. Ensure that the
bolt is attached from the inside and slots into the recess
of the fitting.
2. Attach the locking lever D on the bolt B, so that it is
placed on the outside of the tube.
3. Slide the handle E into the tube.
4. Tighten the locking lever D.
The locking levers must be pointing downwards
during use.

4.3 Folding and Unfolding

Unfolding to Operating Position
WARNING!
Risk of Injury
– Before use, make sure that the walking aid is
fully unfolded and the safety latch is in locked
position.
1. Press the walking aid downwards until the safety latch
F locks in position with an audible "click".

CAUTION!
Risk of Pinching
– Be aware of the risk of pinching fingers between
the parts of the frame when folding.
1. Release the safety latch G upwards - backwards.
2. Lift the cross tube H under the seat upwards.

4.4 Adjusting the Handle Height

WARNING!
Risk of falling
– Always ensure that the levers are tightened
securely to prevent the handle from unintended
lowering.
– Do not set the handles above their highest
allowed position, indicated by the marking on
the tubes.
Recommended height: The handles should be
positioned at wrist height when standing straight with
relaxed arms. Therapist may suggest different heights
depending on specific needs of the client.
A
1. Loosen the lever A.
2. Adjust the handle to suitable height.
3. Re-tighten the lever. Press on the handle to check for
secure fit.
4. Repeat the procedure on the other side.
For a more comfortable hand position, you may swivel the
handles to point inwards. A locking mechanism prevents
exceeding the maximum allowed angle.
WARNING!
– Do not swivel the handles to point outwards.
4.5 Walking
WARNING!
Risk of falling
– Be careful if the wheels stop against an obstacle,
e.g. a kerb.
1. Place the walking aid slightly in front of you and take a
step towards it while using the hand grips for support.
