5. Install the guide bar and the diamond chain on the
bar bolts. Align the hole in the guide bar with the
tension adjuster pin for the diamond chain. Do a
check that the drive links of the diamond chain fit
correctly on the rim sprocket. Do a check that the
diamond chain is correctly put in the groove in the
guide bar (C).
6. Make sure that the bumpers on the drive links turns
forward on the top edge of the guide bar (D).
7. Install the transmission cover and tighten the bar
nuts by hand. Turn the chain tensioning screw
clockwise to tighten the diamond chain.
8. To get the correct tension of the diamond chain, hold
up the guide bar tip. Then tighten the bar nuts with
the combination wrench. Make sure that you can
easily pull the diamond chain around the guide bar
by hand.
To adjust the tension of the diamond chain
WARNING: Use protective gloves to prevent
injury from the diamond chain.
WARNING: A diamond chain with an
incorrect tension can derail from the guide
bar and cause serious injury or death.
A diamond chain becomes longer when you use it.
Adjust the saw chain regularly.

1. Do a check of play between drive link and guide bar.
If the play is more than ½ in./12 mm (A), the
diamond chain must be tightened.

2. Loosen the bar nuts with the combination wrench.
Then tighten the bar nuts by hand as tight as you
can.
3. Lift the front of the bar guide. Adjust the tension on
the diamond chain with the chain tensioning screw.
Tighten the diamond chain until it is tight against the
bottom of the guide bar. Make sure that you can pull
the diamond chain around freely by hand and that it
does not hang from the guide bar.
