Please put the magnetic stirrer on top of a horizontal, plane and stable table making a
free space of at least 30 cm per side. Do not put the stirrer near any warm supply (burners,
blowlamps...) nor expose directly to the sun. During operation, avoid inflammable fluids
or pathologic material in the working area.
The magnetic stirrer is supplied with a Schuko standard wire.
Please insert the wire that feeds the A/C in the base of current 220 V ± 10% 50-60 Hz pro-
vided with earth wire and to the other end to the magnetic stirrer connector.
Neither the manufacturer nor the distributor will assume any responsibility for the
damages produced to the equipment during its installation or damages to people suffered
by the improper use of the electric connection. The tension should be 220 V ± 10% 50-60 Hz.
If you are not using the magnetic stirrer for a long period of time please make sure it is
disconnected from the net.
Setting up
Note: Before connecting the equipment, check that the speed and temperature knobs are
off; therefore, light indicators (1.8) and (1.9) must be switched off and the control knobs in
the extreme left position.
Stirrer connection
The magnetic stirrer is provided with a Schuko wire; it should be connected to a current
wire provided with an earth wire, and it should be handy to be disconnected in case of
emergency.
Press the general/security switch (1.6).
Placing the sample to be stirred
In the middle of the plate place a glass with the solution to be stirred and a magnet insi-
de, then increase gradually the stirring speed. You should do it this way to avoid the mag-
net to turn in an asynchronous way. Were this to happen, you should decrease the speed
or -if necessary- switch the stirrer off. Then, switch it on again and increase the speed
slowly.
Setting the stirring speed
Turn the speed knob (1.10) clockwise and movement indicator will light up (1.8). Adjust
the stirring speed according to your needs.
Setting temperature
In order to heat up the solution turn the temperature knob (1.7) clockwise and the tem-
perature indicator will light up (1.9). Then, adjust temperature's intensity according to
your needs. Remember that the temperature knob does not present the function of adjus-
ting to a specific temperature. In case you need a specific temperature you should assem-
ble the rod and the bosshead, place a thermometer (not included with the equipment) and
put it inside the solution. This way you will be able to control temperature.
