BOOST/MAX FUNCTION
Function that allows to speed up the charging process thanks to a fast precharge of the battery (the charging time is
a function of the capacity and the level of discharge of the battery). It is recommended to use the "boost" function
for fast battery charging.
AMMETER READING
The ammeter allows reading the current supplied by the charger to the battery (a completely discharged battery will
initially require the maximum current, which will then gradually decrease). During the charging phase, the ammeter
indicator shall be observed to move from right to left, indicating a decrease in the current required by the battery to
very low values close to zero (charged battery condition), with a speed and accuracy that depend on the capacity, the
battery status and the accuracy of the ammeter reading. Remember that the exact state of charge of the batteries can
only be determined using a densimeter, which allows the specific density of the electrolyte to be measured.
For manual battery chargers, it will be necessary to monitor the ammeter to determine that the battery has reached
the end of charging and that it needs to be disconnected from the battery charger to prevent overheating or damage.
