Changing the oil

CAUTION!
Hot oil can cause burns. Use protective gloves.

NOTICE!
• Only dispose of used oil at a specialist recycling station and observe
the local laws for environmental protection.
• Do not mix oils with different characteristics or from different manu-
facturers.
You may use the following oil:
• Oil with the specifications:
– CCMC D4, D5, PD
– API CD, CE, CF, CG
– SHPD
• SAE grade oils:
– 5W-30
– 5W-40
– 100W
– 100W-30 (recommended)
– 10W-30
– 15W-30
– 30
– 40
• Oil with single grade oil viscosity:
Select the appropriate viscosity according to the average temperature on-site.
Change the oil as follows (fig. 5, page 6):
➤ Allow the generator to run warm for three to five minutes so that the oil can drain
off faster and completely.
➤ Take the dipstick (1) out of the filler neck (2).
➤ Place a suitable receptacle (4) near the oil hose (5).
➤ Loosen the clamp (3).
➤ Take off the oil hose (5) and let the oil drain off into the receptacle (4).
➤ Put the oil hose (5) onto the hose-end fitting.
➤ Fasten the oil hose (5) with the clamp (3).
