Troubleshooting
Before sending the product for repair, refer to the following checklist to see if you can resolve the problem. If
the problem persists, contact an authorized Olympus service center.
Common
Problem
The power does
not turn on.
The tray will not
eject.
The tray will not
go in.
The drive (other
than this unit) was
unable to read the
disk.
EN-42
Cause/Status
The AC adapter is not properly connected.
The unit is not turned on.
The disk is being accessed or it is being used
in PC mode.
The disk is not properly set in the tray.
You have not finalized the disk after writing
the data.
Solution
Check to see if the AC adapter is
firmly connected.
Check to see if the AC adapter is
firmly connected. Switch the unit on
and make sure that the power indicator
turns on.
If the tray still does not eject, force-
eject the tray as follows:
1. Always turn off the unit power.
2. Use a long and narrow object such
as a straightened paper clip and insert
it straight into the force-eject hole. The
tray will eject.
3. Pull out the tray.
Eject the disk using the software
operations.
Check that the disk is properly placed
onto the center of the tray.
Finalize the disk using B's CLiP6
software if you do not add any data on
the disk in the future.
