WARNING!
Depending on the application, there may be a risk of intoxication or suffocation when working on
containers or tanks. Work must therefore only be performed using suitable protective measures
(for example respiratory masks and devices, protective clothing, measures for the discharge of
caustic and poisonous gases).
In the explosion-proof zone, the corresponding legal stipulations and operational instructions
must be observed.
The product must be mounted in a de-pressurized state.
NOTE!
The sealing surfaces between the tank or container and the product must be clean and free from me-
chanical damage. In order to increase the operating life of the product, it is recommended to use contact
protection relays.
Furthermore, it is recommended to use mechanical protection for applications involving coarse particles,
see figure.
NOTE!
Due to the mode of operation of the reed contact, a gap of at least 5 cm must be maintained from ferro-
magnetic components/environments.
NOTE!
Furthermore, a gap of at least 100 cm must be maintained from electromagnetic fields.
For applications involving a potentially explosive atmosphere, during operation the product must be pro-
tected against external impact effects in order to prevent spark formation, and installed in compliance
with IEC/EN 60079-14 and ISO 80079-36.
The installation position must be selected such that the maximum permissible angle of 30° to the vertical
axis is not exceeded. The float must be mounted so that it can move freely against the tank or container
wall. For ideal mounting, turbulences are to be prevented through filler necks or stirrers.
During mounting, the user must select the tightening torque taking into account the respective process
connection, material pairing of process connection and tank material, lubrication, seal and ambient con-
ditions (e.g. pressure, temperature). An aid is provided by the technical rule VDI 2230.
