Adjusting the harness

On the belt guide of the catch, pull the shoulder strap to the desired length�

Fasten the snap closures (see Fig� 47)�
3�
Pull the lower straps of the belts to the desired length�
4�
Fasten the snap closures together at the front of the butterfly harness�
Using the harness
1�
To open the belt, open the two snap fasteners�
2�
Lay the two sides of the belt to the sides�
3�
Sit the user into the seat�
4�
Guide the arms into the opening between the backrest and belt�
5�
Bring the two sides of the belt together in the center of the upper body and close with the snap fasteners�

Positioning aids
WARNING
Incorrect application of the belt system/positioning aid
Strangulation, suffocation due to incorrectly positioned safety belts/positioning aids
X Follow the instructions for proper application so that the user cannot slip into a position that would endanger
him or her�
X Note that the user's back must be up against the back pad when securing the belt system/positioning aid
and during use of the product�
X Do not use safety belts or positioning aids if the user is able to sit without them�
CAUTION
Improper adjustment
Crushing or pinching due to adjustments which are too tight
X Make sure that you do not pinch the user or crush body parts while adjusting the positioning aids�
The option has been installed and preset by qualified personnel� If the option has been adjusted too tightly or cannot
be engaged, the safety belt can be subsequently adjusted�
The seat can be equipped with positioning systems�

Lateral supports
The seat can be equipped with lateral supports that provide additional support to the upper body for certain indica-
tions�
Mounting the lateral supports

Loosen the two mounting screws on the rear of the backrest�
2�
Position the lateral supports on the inside of the backrest in the desired position (see Fig� 48)�
3�
Guide the screw through the slot from the front to the rear, tighten with the wing nut and secure with the Phillips
head screw (see Fig� 49)�
4�
Lay the back pad over the backrest�
