4.1 Rack installation
For installation into a rack, fasten the two mount-
ing brackets supplied with the amplifier to the
left and right sides of the housing . In the rack,
the amplifier requires a height of 1 RS (rack space
= 44 .45 mm) .
The hot air given off by the amplifier must
be dissipated from the rack; otherwise, heat will
accumulate in the rack which may not only damage
the amplifier but also other units in the rack . In case
of insufficient heat dissipation, install a ventilation
unit into the rack .
5 Connection
Always switch off the amplifier before making or
changing any connections .
1) Connect the audio unit (e . g . CD/ MP3 player,
mixer, radio) to the RCA jacks INPUT (7): Connect
the left channel to the white jack and the right
channel to the red jack .
2) Connect the speaker systems to the terminals
SPEAKER (8) (RIGHT = right channel, LEFT = left
channel) . The impedance of the speakers must
not fall below 4 Ω; otherwise, the amplifier may
be damaged . To prevent reverse polarity of the
speaker, always connect the marked core of the
speaker cable to the red terminal .
3) For power supply, connect the mains jack (5) to
a socket (230 V~ / 50 Hz) using the mains cable
provided .
6 Operation
1) Before switching on the amplifier for the first
time, set the volume controls LEFT and RIGHT (2)
to "0" .
2) Switch on the audio unit connected .
3) Switch on the amplifier with the POWER
switch (4); the power LED ON (3) lights up .
4) Use the controls LEFT and RIGHT to adjust the
desired volume and at the same time the stereo

balance, if necessary . The red LED CLIP (1) is an
overload indication; in case of overload of an
amplifier channel, the LED of this channel will
light up . In this case, turn back the correspond-
ing volume control accordingly .
CAUTION Never adjust a very high volume .
Permanent high volumes may
damage your hearing! Your ear
will get accustomed to high vol-
umes which do not seem to be that high after
some time . Therefore, do not further increase
a high volume after getting used to it .
5) After operation, switch off the amplifier with
the POWER switch . To prevent switching noise,
always switch off the amplifier before switching
off the other units of the audio system .
