7.2.3 Digital or EVO 1 (Electronic Voluntary Opening)
7.2.3.1 Two-electrode control - digital -
Opening and closing the electric hand 2000 is controlled with the use of two electrodes.
Starting at a certain level of the muscle signal, the electric hand 2000 opens and closes at a con
stant speed.
Adjusting the electrodes
The desired program version has to be selected in the software.
Each electrode should be adjusted so that the patient can hold the muscle signal above the "ON"
value for about 2 seconds.
7.2.3.2 One-electrode control - EVO 1 -
The opening and closing of the electric hand 2000 is controlled with the use of one electrode.
Starting at a certain level of the muscle signal, the electric hand 2000 opens and closes at a con
stant speed.
For the simpler control of the electric hand 2000 for children who cannot differentiate the different
muscle signals, the electrode can be positioned on the extension musculature.
If only the flexors have sufficiently strong muscle action potential, the electric hand 2000 can also
be controlled using the flexors.
► Connect the electrode cable to electrode connecting plug 1 or 2 on the controller.

7.2.4 EVO 2 (Electronic Voluntary Opening)
The opening and closing of the electric hand 2000 is controlled with the use of one electrode.
The stronger the muscle signal, the faster the electric hand 2000 opens. If the muscle signal is no
longer present, the electric hand 2000 closes automatically.
For the simpler control of the electric hand 2000 for children who cannot differentiate the different
muscle signals, the electrode can be positioned on the extension musculature.
If only the flexors have sufficiently strong muscle action potential, the electric hand 2000 can also
be controlled using the flexors.
In this case the gripping force can be adjusted with the potentiometer.
► Connect the electrode cable to electrode connecting plug 1 or 2 on the controller.

Each electrode should be adjusted so that the patient can hold the muscle signal above the
"Low" value for about 2 seconds.
7.3 Turning off
Intelligent battery management in the product provides information about the decreasing battery
charge level. This takes place in 2 stages:
Stage 1: The electric hand 2000 only moves very slowly, and only a low gripping force can be
built up (with maximum patient muscle tension).
Stage 2: The electric hand 2000 can be opened, but no further movement is possible anymore
after it stops.
