Servicing and Repairing the Charger

The charger requires no servicing and cannot be repaired.
► If the charger has a malfunction or is damaged: Replace
the charger.
► If the connecting cable has a malfunction or is damaged:
Do not use the charger and have connecting cable
replaced by a STIHL servicing dealer.

10 Troubleshooting

10.1 Troubleshooting Charger

If the battery is not being charged and the LED on the
charger flashes red: There is no contact between the
charger and battery.
► Remove the battery.
► Clean contacts on charger.
► Fit the battery.
► If the battery is still not being charged and the LED on the
charger flashes red: Do not use the charger and contact
your STIHL servicing dealer.
Malfunction in charger.

If an extension cord is used, it must have a ground
connection and the wires must have the following minimum
cross sections, according to the voltage and the length of the
extension cord:
220 V to 240 V
– Cord length up to 20 m: 1.5 mm²
– Cord length 20 m to 50 m: 2.5 mm²
100 V to 127 V
– Cord length up to 10 m: AWG 14 / 2.0 mm²
– Cord length 10 m to 30 m: AWG 12 / 3.5 mm²
