System 3A and 3B with 1 tank, 1 circulating pump and 4 probes
Switching on
Whenever the controller is powered, the display will activate all symbols for 2 seconds; whereas, in the following
5 seconds, the display will show the controller software version.
Standby Mode
After the activation phase, in the absence of faults and/or higher priority demands, the controller goes on standby.
The following information will be displayed:
• Standby: solar collector PT1000 sensor S3 temperature with range 1÷180°C, the symbol S3 will be lit up; solar collector
return NTC sensor S4 temperature with range 1÷125°C, the symbol S4 will be lit up.
• Press the Info button for 1 second to display the hot water tank NTC sensor S2 temperature with range 1÷125°C, the
symbol S2 will be lit up, and the upper hot water tank PT1000 sensor S1 with range 1÷180°C, the symbol S1 will be
lit up.
• Press the Info button for 1 second and the controller returns to standby.
operation
Solar Circulating Pump Activation
If the hot water tank sensor S2 temperature is less than the Tank maximum temperature parameter value (Installer
parameter, default 60°C) and the difference (positive) between the solar collector sensor S3 temperature and the
hot water tank sensor S2 temperature is greater than or equal to the Activation temperature differential parameter
value (Installer parameter, default 6°C), the ECOTRONIC tech controller activates the solar circulating pump.
To signal this mode, the solar circulating pump symbol will be lit up.
Solar Circulating Pump Modulation - ACtivAtABle only witH ConventionAl CirCulAting PuMP (not HigH
eFFiCienCy)
When the solar circulating pump is working and the Solar circulating pump operation parameter (Installer parameter,
default 0=On/Off) is set to 1, the modulation algorithm is:
1. If the difference between the temperature of solar collector sensor S3 and solar collector return sensor S4 is less
than or equal to the Solar circulating pump modulation temperature differential - Minimum parameter value (Installer
parameter, default 10°C), the solar circulating pump works at speed 1 (Min. power, 40%).
To signal this mode, the symbol A will be lit up.
2. If the difference between the temperature of solar collector sensor S3 and solar collector return sensor S4 is greater
than the Solar circulating pump modulation temperature differential - Minimum parameter value (Installer parameter,
default 10°C), the solar circulating pump works at speed 2 (55%).
To signal this mode, the symbol B will be lit up.
3. If the difference between the temperature of solar collector sensor S3 and solar collector return sensor S4 is greater
than the Solar circulating pump modulation temperature differential - Minimum parameter value (Installer parameter,
default 10°C) plus the Solar circulating pump modulation temperature differential parameter value (Installer parameter,
default 5°C), the solar circulating pump works at speed 3 (70%).
To signal this mode, the symbol C will be lit up.
4. If the difference between the temperature of solar collector sensor S3 and solar collector return sensor S4 is greater
than the Solar circulating pump modulation temperature differential - Minimum parameter value (Installer parameter,
default 10°C) plus twice the Solar circulating pump modulation temperature differential parameter value (Installer
parameter, default 5°C), the solar circulating pump works at speed 4 (85%).
To signal this mode, the symbol D will be lit up.
