Type of Clutch
For right rotation, the machines have
a
torque-dependent
clutch which can be adjusted over a
wide range.
torque setting is reached.
For left rotation, a torque-dependent
ratcheting clutch is effective which
can be adjusted over a wide range. It
responds when the torque setting is
reached.
Thrust and Pressure Start with Switch-Off Clutch
in Right Rotation and Ratcheting Clutch in Left
Rotation
Switching on: Press the on/off switch 9 for right rota-
tion or on/off switch 10 for left rotation
and apply pressure to the tool at the
same time.
Switching off: The machine switches off automatical-
ly in right rotation when the adjusted
torque is reached. In left rotation, the
driver
ratchets
switches 9+10 are released or the
pressure on the tool is relieved.
For premature releasing of the on/off switches
9+10 for left rotation or on/off switches 9 for
right rotation or the premature relieving of the
pressure on the tool, the pre-set torque will
not be achieved.
Working Instructions
Before performing any work on the machine it-
self, disconnect the air supply.
Setting the Torque
Without Unscrewing the Housing (Fig.
Insert the Allen key 13 into the tool holder 2 and turn
slowly until a small slot in the clutch is visible in the
opening of the housing 3. Do not mistake the flat-
tened side of the round nut 14 for the slot. Insert the
locking hook 15 into this slot and lock the clutch. By
turning the Allen key 13, the torque can now be ad-
justed.
Turning in the clockwise direction results in a higher
torque, in the counter clockwise direction, a lower
toque.

With Unscrewing of the Housing (Fig.
Unscrew the housing 3 (Left-hand threads!).
Pull off the clutch 16. Take care that the valve pin*
does not fall out. Insert the Allen key 17 into the hex
switch-off
socket of the clutch shaft. It is helpful to clamp the Al-
len key 17 in a vice.

With the 24 mm spanner placed on the round nut 14
and by turning the spanner, the spring tension can be
adjusted a detent at a time.

Turning in the clockwise direction results in a higher
torque, in the counter clockwise direction, a lower
toque.
Begin with lower adjustment values.
Screw in the housing 3.
After the adjustment
Adapt the torque by means of trial boltings for the spe-
cific bolting action (hard, middle, soft). Check the

torque with an electronic torque measuring instrument
or a torque wrench.
With a clamping device in the area 4, this counter
force can more easily be counteracted.
Machines that are operated with a torque greater than
7 Nm are to be used with a clamping device or an aux-
iliary handle.

Take care that the auxiliary handle or the clamping de-
vice holds the unit in a firm and secure manner.

Caution!
For soft bolting actions, the clutch no longer
ratchets even for low torque settings.
For higher torques, a correspondingly greater
counter force is necessary.
Or support the machine on a
countering surface. For this
purpose, attach the hanging
hoop with support possibili-
ty 12 in the clamping area 4.
In the clamping holder of the
hanging hoop 12, clamp an
angled 13 mm Allen key and
support it against the coun-
tering surface.
