5.3 Checking and cleaning the exhaust filter
ATTENTION:
The filter is washable, but it may not be cleaned in dishwashers or wash-
ing machines. Do not use cleaning agents for cleaning.
Leave the filter to dry after cleaning it with water (approx. 24 hours at
room temperature). Only put it back in place when it is completely dry.

5.5 Recommendation

Check the exhaust filter each time you check the motor protection filter,
Chapter 5.2, "Checking and cleaning the motor protection filter".
Clean the exhaust filter as soon as you see it is dirty.
Replace the exhaust filter as soon as it deforms or is damaged
( Chapter 5.4, "Spare parts and accessories").
1. Switch off the appliance,

2. Push down the release catch of the exhaust filter cover and fold down
the cover (Fig. 13/A).
3. Remove the exhaust filter from its holder (Fig. 13/B).
4. Hold the exhaust filter over a dustbin and remove larger accumulations
of dirt by hand.
5. If such dry cleaning is insufficient, thoroughly rinse the exhaust filter by
hand in running clear cold or lukewarm water.
6. Let the motor protection filter dry completely (about 24 hours at room
temperature).
7. Place the clean/new exhaust filter back into its receptacle (Fig. 13/B).
NOTE:
The exhaust filter has a fine side and a coarse side (Fig. 13/B, magni-

fier). Before inserting the exhaust filter hold it so that the coarse struc-
ture points in the direction of the motor and the fine structure towards the
outside of the appliance.
8. Attach the exhaust filter cover at the bottom first (Fig. 14/A).
9. Then push it back into its holder (Fig. 14/B).
NOTE:
It is easier if you push down the release catch in the process.
10. Check the exhaust filter cover for correct fit.
