17. Maintenance

Warning: If the pump is damaged or altered, do not use it. Contact your local Nestlé Health Science representative or Nestlé approved service provider.
The Compat Ella portable enteral feeding pump has no user-serviceable parts. No calibration is required. The Expected Service Life (ESL) is 10 years.

The required maintenance interval for the Compat Ella
software malfunction, contact your local Nestlé Health Science representative or Nestlé approved service provider to repair or replace the pump.
18. Accessories
Patient Data Management System (PDMS)
A separate cable is available as an accessory to enable connection of the pump to an approved PDMS system. When connected to an approved PDMS
system, and PDMS is enabled, the pump will allow tracking of key information such as Rate and Volume Given via the PDMS. See advanced settings to see
how to enable PDMS. Contact your local Nestlé Health Science representative for details.

Nurse Call

A separate cable is available as an accessory to enable connection of the pump to a nurse call system. When connected to an approved nurse call system,
and nurse call is enabled, the pump will send an alarm signal to the nurse call management system. See advanced settings to see how to enable Nurse call.

Backpacks
Adult and Junior backpacks are available as accessories. Contact your local Nestlé Health Science representative for details.
• Connect tube feeding container, administration set and pump and fully prime the system before placing into the backpack.
• Secure the pump in the backpack. Avoid excess personal items in backpack as they may cause kinks in the tubing and interfere with pump operation.
• Make sure the tube feeding container is hooked securely at the top with the set connector at the bottom.
• Make sure the administration set and tubing are free from kinks, which could cause a blockage.
• Use extra care to avoid introducing air into the system.
• Maintain backpacks in an essentially upright position to keep tube feeding container higher than pump.
• When using an open container or bag, eliminate extra air in the system as this will help avoid Air-in-Line alarm.
Table Stand / Backpack Insert
A table stand is available as an accessory. It can also be used with a backpack. Contact your local Nestlé Health Science representative for details.
