WARNING: Never pull the saw head toward
you during a cut. The blade may suddenly climb on top
of the workpiece and force itself toward you.
MITRE CUT
A mitre cut is performed at 0º bevel and any mitre an-
gle from 45º left to 45º right. It can be performed both in
cross-cutting with or without slide action, depending on
the width of the workpiece.
The table can be turned 45º both left and right from the
normal cross-cut 0º position to make a mitre cut with or
without slide action.
For convenient operation, the mitre table is equipped
with mitre detents for fast and accurate mitre cuts of
common mitre angles (left: 45º; 30º; 22.5º; 15º;0º and
right: 0º; 15º; 22.5º; 30º; 45º).
1. Loosen the mitre table lock handle (23) by screwing
it anti-clockwise. (Fig. 11)
2. Pull upward the lock latch (24) located under the
handle (23) to enable rotating the table and select-
ing the desired cutting angle.
3. Adjust the cutting angle by moving the handle (23)
left or right to rotate the table. Screw the handle
clockwise to tighten it before starting to cut. (Fig. 12)
BEVEL CUT
A bevel cut is made at 0º angle of the mitre table and any
bevel angle in the range of 0º to 45º left. It can be per-
formed both in cross-cutting with or without slide action,
depending on the width of the workpiece.
The blade can be moved from its normal 90º vertical po-
sition to 45º to the left only.
Loosen the bevel lock lever (32) and tilt the saw head to
the left, until the desired angle is reached on the bevel
scale (3). Re-tighten the bevel lock lever (32) to fix the
angle and make a bevel cut. (Fig. 13)
COMPOUND MITRE CUT
A compound mitre cut involves setting a mitre angle and
a bevel angle at the same time. It can be performed both
in cross-cutting with or without slide action, depending
on the width of the workpiece.
Set the mitre and bevel angles following the above men-
tioned procedures. (Fig. 14)
TRENCH DEPTH ADJUSTMENT
With the saw arm lifted, you can adjust the trench depth,
so that the depth adjustment knob (7) touches the trench
stop as you lower the saw arm. (Fig. 15)
This restricts the cut to a "trench" in the workpiece.
To do trench cutting, proceed as follows:
1. Move the depth stop lever (5) to the left.
2. Loosen the knurled nut (36) under the knob (7).
3. Adjust knob (7) until the desired depth is achieved
(lower the saw head until the screw touches the
trench stop).
a) Screw the knob in to raise the blade (to decrease
cutting depth).
b) Unscrew the knob to lower the blade (to increase
cutting depth).
Original instructions
4. Tighten the knurled nut under the knob.
5. Return the depth stop lever (5) in its original position
when not in use.
VIII - Maintenance
WARNING: Always switch off and unplug the
power tool before performing any adjustments, ser-
vice or maintenance.
PRECISION SETTING OF ANGLES
WARNING: Switch off and unplug the power
tool.
The machine is delivered factory set. We recommend
checking the mitre table angle 0º and the vertical position
of the blade prior to initial operation and regularly during
maintenance, as these angles might have changed dur-
ing transportation.
To check the mitre table angle setting, select angle 0º by
handle (23) and fix it, as described in "Mitre cut". Using
a square A (not supplied) with its short arm against the
fence (19), check if the long arm is parallel to the mitre
table slot (Fig. 16a). Use the hex key, delivered with the
machine, to unwind the screws, fixing the fence, and
then re-tighten the screws. (Fig. 16b)
Similarly, check that the angle of the blade to the face of
the rotary table is 90º. (Fig.17)
If necessary, adjust the tilt angle of the saw head to 90º.
Push the saw head backward on the slide bars as far as it
will go and fix them by screw (30). Adjust the bevel angle
to 90º and fix it by nut B. (Fig.18)
You can check the 45º bevel angle using a 45º combina-
tion square or bevel setting protractor D (not supplied)
(Fig.19). Set the bevel angle by adjusting the screw and
nut C. (Fig.20)
CHANGING THE BLADE
WARNING: Switch off and unplug the power
tool.
Remove screw (18) located on the linking rod and loosen
screw (15) on the guard (17) mounting plate.
Swing the retractable safety guard (16) backward to the
rear, press the spindle lock button (27) and rotate the
blade by hand until it locks.
Loosen and remove the blade securing bolt (38) and the
outer flange (40) with the blade spanner delivered with
the machine in clockwise direction. (Fig. 21, 22, 23, 24)
NOTE: The blade securing bolt (38) is left-threaded.
Remove the blade using sturdy gloves. Clean any dust
and debris from the blade bore and the flanges.
To fit the blade again, follow the above described proce-
dures in reverse order.
