17.4.3 Clamp tools
The tool must be clamped tighten.
During the rotating operation of the tool has a tendency to bend away from the workpiece.
The cut angle is correct if the cutting edge is in line with the central axis of the workpiece. The
correct height of the tool can be achieved by comparing the tool tip with the live center in the
tail-stock tip.
If necessary, the tool must be adjusted by using steel parallels.
17.4.4 Leveling tailstock to headstock
Tighten properly between spindle and tailstock up a 200mm long solid piece of pipe.
Now clamp a indicating caliper into the tool holder.
Run with manual feed (handwheel) the top slides along the workpiece. When measuring
differences of tailstock is adjusted using the adjustment screw on headstock with tailstock (11)
until no more measuring differences exist.
17.4.5 Speed change
The
ED can 400FD within 2 speed ranges
be
operated.
To change the speed range of
belt must be allocated.
Loosen and remove the two screws on the handle head
headstock cover (17) and remove the gear cover.
