4 Handling
4.1 Fabrication of the Inner Socket
The later position of the 743Y41 Alignment Rod and the position of the
99B13=* PVC Connection Tube is determined with the 11S12 Attachment
Piece and 99B83=* Tube Dummy respectively. The residual limb and fit-
ting conditions of the patient (unilateral or bilateral) must be taken into
account. In order to achieve the greatest possible degree of freedom for
the patient, it is recommended for positioning the 11S12 Attachment Piece
and 99B83=* Tube Dummy to attach them on the plaster positive – starting
from the neutral O-position – in a slightly adducted and flexed direction.
4.2 Laminated Inner Socket
In case of a laminated inner socket, the 11S12 Attachment Piece is to
be attached to the distal end of the plaster positive with light putty. After
laminating the inner socket, the 743Y41 Alignment Rod is screwed into
the Attachment Piece.
4.3 Vacuum Formed Inner Socket
1) Vacuum form the inner socket with 616T53=* or 616T69=* ThermoLyn
Soft over the plaster positive and Tube Dummy (Fig. 1).
2) Attach matching 743Y42=* Lamination Dummy onto the 743Y41 Align-
ment Rod. Make sure that the neck of the Lamination Dummy is mounted
in the direction of the inner socket.
3) Screw the 743Y41 Alignment Rod into the 99B83=* Tube Dummy.
4.4 Fabrication of the Shaped Part for the Outer Socket
1) Determine the position of the Lamination Dummy on the 743Y41 Align-
ment Rod. For this purpose, move the 743Y42=* Lamination Dummy on
