MAINTENANCE AND TROUBLESHOOTING

CAUTION: Be sure to switch power OFF and disconnect the plug during maintenance
and inspection.
1. MIXING AND STIRRING
Use a mixing paddle with a shaft up to 5/8" (16mm) diameter,
appropriate for the material you are mixing.
2. DRILL BITS
Always use sharp bits. It is a good idea to have a variety of bits on hand
with extras in the more popular sizes.
NOTE: Use high-speed steel bits for wood or metal because they are
harder than high-carbon steel bits. Use high-carbon steel bits for softer
materials.
APPLICATION
Hard Metals (Steel, etc.)
Soft Metals (Brass, etc.)
Wood
Masonry
Glass
Plastics, Compositions
3. DRILLING METAL
When drilling metal, apply a lubricant to the tip of the drill bit. A light
machine oil is a good lubricant for most metals. Use paraffin to lubricate
the drill bit when working in brass.
4. DRILLING MASONRY
Use carbide-tipped bits for drilling masonry, such as cement block, tile,
stone, plaster and brick. When drilling masonry, apply constant pressure
on the drill. Use carbide-tipped bits carefully because they are very brittle
and easily broken.
