Maximum/Minimum/Average Recording Mode
The MINMAX button starts a recording feature which keeps three
registers; Maximum, Minimum and Average constantly updated and
MINMAX
available for viewing on the LCD until the recorder is disabled. This
feature can be used with all the meter's ranges except Logic. Enabling MINMAX
recorder disables the automatic power off feature.
To use, dial the Range Switch to the parameter to be measured and connect the
meter to the circuit per instructions in the MEASURING PROCEDURES section.
Next, press the MINMAX button once to obtain REC MAX in the LCD. The circuit
parameter being measured will now display the maximum reading the recorder
has in the MAX register. Press the MINMAX button a second time to see the
reading stored in the MIN register. Each successive pressing of the MINMAX
button will cycle the display to the next register in a continuous loop. The Average
reading displayed is the average of the last 10 readings at 2/sec. Use this feature
when ripple noise on a voltage level makes it difficult to obtain a good reading.
When only the REC appears in the LCD, the reading displayed is the circuit's real-
time reading/display mode. However, the REC indicates that the recording of
MAX, MIN and AVG readings are still taking place.
To disable, press and hold for 2 seconds the MINMAX button. This will stop all
recordings, clear all the registers and re-enable the Automatic Power Off feature.
