5.1 Safety instructions

RK Rose+Krieger GmbH has built this drive unit to the state of the art and existing safety regula-
tions. Nonetheless, this drive unit may pose risks to persons and property if these are used incor-
rectly or not for the intended purpose or if the safety instructions are not obeyed.
Skilled operation guarantees high performance and availability of this drive unit. Faults or condi-
tions which can influence safety are to be rectified immediately.
Any person having anything to do with the installation, use, operation or maintenance of this
drive unit must have read and understood the installation instructions.
This includes
•
understanding the safety instructions in the text and
•
the configuration of the various operating and usage options and how these work.
Only nominated persons may use, install and operate this drive unit. Work on and with the drive
unit may only take place in accordance with these instructions. It is therefore essential that these
instructions are ready to hand in the vicinity of the drive unit and kept in a safe place.
General, national and operating safety regulations are to be obeyed. Responsibilities for the use,
installation and operation of this drive unit must be regulated unambiguously and obeyed, in
order that there cannot be any ill-defined authorities in relation to safety aspects. Before any
commissioning, the user must be sure that no persons or objects are in the drive unit's danger
area. The user should only operate the drive unit in perfect condition. Any change is to be repor-
ted to the nearest line manager immediately.

5.2 Special safety instructions

Work with the drive unit may only take place in accordance with these instructions.

The unit may only be opened by authorised technical staff. If there is a fault with the drive
unit, we recommend that you contact the manufacturer or send this drive unit for repair.

Independent conversions of or changes to the drive unit are not permitted on safety grounds.
•
The performance specification for this drive unit laid down by RK Rose+Krieger GmbH must
not be exceeded (see section ).
•
The maker's plate must remain legible. It must be possible to call up the data effortlessly at
any time.
•
The danger symbols marking danger areas on the product provide safety.
Safety-related devices must be checked at least once a year for serviceability, damage and
completeness.
