6.2 Decalcification

Waste disposal
When the service life of the appliance has expired, in particular if malfunctions occur,
make the finished appliance unusable by removing the mains plug from the socket and
disconnecting the power cable. Dispose of the appliance according to the
environmental provisions applicable in your country. Electrical waste must not be
disposed of with domestic waste. Contact your municipal authority or your dealer for
any advice regarding recycling.

You should decalcify the appliance approx. every 6 months
to extend its service life.
WARNING:
Observe the instructions under
for the decalcification procedure.
1. To do this, fill the water tank with water and add approx.
1 to a maximum of 2 tablets of biological decalcifier
(available in the shops).
2. Turn the appliance on.
3. Direct the nozzle into a container which can catch the
steam with the decalcifying solution.
4. Allow the decalcifying solution to run through for
approx. 5 minutes by operating the steam cleaner.
5. Then wait another 5 minutes with the appliance still on.
6. Repeat this procedures 3 times.
7. Then empty the water tank.
