In order to prevent interference, please always connect the two conductor ends at both the
inputs and the outputs.
5.1. Power supply connections
You must, without exception, connect both power supply connections to ensure that the
safety controller functions correctly.
• Power supply connection for logic and monitoring outputs A1 and A2
The A1/A2 power supply connection is used to supply the safety controller
logic, as well as clock and monitoring outputs with power. Two-wire and
three-wire sensors and control devices can be supplied by the safety
controller directly (U
Using three-wire sensors:
Please ensure the GND potential of the sensor/control device
matches the GND potential of the safety controller.
• Power supply connection for 24 V/0 V outputs
The safety controller's outputs and the ground switching outputs are
supplied with power via the 24 V/0 V power supply connection.
5.2. Signal inputs I0 to I19
CAUTION: When connecting the signal cables of two-channel control devices and sensors
at controller inputs, please ensure that signal redundancy is present.
CAUTION: Prevent cross circuits and short circuit!
To this end, lay the sensor cables separately or in conduits.
The controller has 20 digital signal inputs (I0 to I19) for direct connection of safe control devices and/or
safety sensors for monitoring and evaluating processes.
Specification for inputs: 24 V/4 mA.
Using two-channel sensors/control devices:
In order to ensure signal redundancy, the prepared double signal must be used in each case for the
purpose of processing two-channel signals (two-wire sensors and control devices). For example,
in order to be able to monitor or evaluate the two signals of an emergency stop control device
redundantly and to performance level PLe as per EN ISO 13849-1 (formerly EN 954-1, Category 4),
these must be connected at two consecutive signal inputs (e.g., I0 and I1).
The safe inputs are linked to the safety logic in the connection editor of the MSIsafesoft
configuration software.
