Red flashing
Base station:
The base station is used to recharge the battery. The
translucent handpiece rest (8) also acts as an indicator.
The station incorporates a radiometer, which you can
use to check whether your curing light fitted with its
light guide is powerful enough to ensure satisfactory
polymerization. The radiometer window is located on
the front of the rest (9).
(See Figure 2 of the page 77)
Radiometer:
To use the radiometer, proceed as follows:
- set the curing light to Fast curing mode,
- check that the standard light guide is intact and bears
no traces of composite material, then insert the guide
into the handpiece,
- place the end of the light guide flat against the
radiometer window (9) and switch on your Mini LED
AutoFocus,
- note the color with which the handpiece holder (8)
lights up, depending on the measured power:
Color
Green
Power ok
Red
Refer to section 9: Troubleshooting
When the handpiece is placed on its rest for charging,
the translucent rest (8) lights up as follows:

Blue flashing
Blue steady

from the base unit to be used for the first time, the
curing light is in Fast curing mode. The pictogram on the
LCD display indicates the mode. In Fast curing mode the
curing light power is:
- 2,200 mW/cm² (± 10%) with the standard 7.5mm light
guide,
- 3,000 mW/cm² (± 10%) with the optional Ø 5.5 mm
light guide.
"Pulse curing" mode: Press M on the double selector
button (5) to select Pulse curing. This menu gives the
same power as the curing light delivers in Fast curing
mode, but in 10 consecutive flashes with a 250 ms rest
period between flashes.
"Stepped curing" mode: Press M on the double selector
button (5) to select Stepped curing. In Stepped curing
mode (polymerization similar to the Soft menu with a
halogen curing light) you have a ramp-up to full power
over 10 seconds then full power for 10 seconds, at the
level determined by the selected light guide:
- from 0 to 2,200mW/cm² with the standard 7.5mm
light guide,
- from 0 to 3,000mW/cm² with the optional 5.5mm light
guide.
6 – ROUTINE USE
The Mini L.E.D. AutoFocus has two particularly
innovative features enabling you to optimize the
polymerization of your composites:
- a Laser Target function to aim the most powerful part
of your beam at a particular position on your photo-
polymerizable material,
- an AutoFocus function that automatically adjusts the
light emission time to optimize the polymerization
energy delivered to your material. AutoFocus enables
you to obtain constant polymerization quality to a
depth of 2mm, correcting the positioning variations
there may be between the light guide tip and the
clinical site.
1) The Mini L.E.D. AutoFocus must normally be placed
on its rest. The first time the handpiece is screwed
onto the battery, the Fast curing mode is displayed.
For more details refer to section 5.
2) Select the menu to use by pressing button M (5), then
select the light guide used by pressing the
configuration button (6). The selected light guide is
symbolized by a filled circle displayed at the bottom
of the LCD screen. The diameter shown on the display
