General information
CAUTION!
The degree of protection afforded by this child safety device only applies if the equipment is used correctly
and fitted as specified in the user manual.
Only the manufacturer may modify the child's car seat (otherwise the official approval is null and void).
In principle, when using any personal safety system, it should be noted that the car seat backrest should be
adequately secured, and that there should be no hard or sharp-edged objects in the car (e.g. on the parcel
shelf) which are not adequately fastened down (danger of injury).
Please ensure that the child's seat is not damaged by being squeezed between hard items (car door, seat rails
etc.).
When using the child's safety seat on the rear seat, set the front seat far enough forward, so that your child
cannot push on the backrest of the front seat (danger of injury).
After an accident at an impact speed of more than 10 km/h, the child's car seat may be damaged. This must
be inspected by the manufacturer and the seat exchanged as required.
If the child's car seat is damaged (e.g. following a crash), it must be checked by the manufacturer.
If the child's seat is left unoccupied when the car is driven, it should be secured with the belt or ISOFIX.
All persons in the car must also wear seat belts.
The child's car seat has been designed, tested and approved in accordance with the requirements in the European
standard for children's safety equipment (ECE R 44/03). The test symbol E (in a circle) and the approval number are
located on the approvals label (a sticker on the child's car seat
If you experience difficulties in use, please contact the manufacturer.
In order that your child is not exposed to unnecessarily high temperatures, the child's seat should not be exposed to
the full force of the sun's rays when not in use.
Please do not leave your child unintentionally in the car seat or the car itself.
The basic principle is as follows: The more snugly the belt fits the child's body, the greater the degree of safety offered.
On some sensitive car seating materials (e.g. velour, leather, etc.), the use of child seats may leave traces, which can
be avoided by placing a cushion or a towel under them.
Note (A plea to parents)
Set your child a good example and wear your safety belt every time you travel. Take breaks on long journeys, so
that your child can be relieved of the constraints on his/her movement. Only let your child get in and out on the
near side.

Cleaning notes
CAUTION!
Ensure that you only use original Volkswagen accessories, as the material plays a significant part in the
functioning of the system. You can obtain spares from your Volkswagen agent.
The child safety seat may not be used without the cover.
You can remove the cover and wash it gently with soap flakes and lukewarm water (30°C hand washing). Observe the
washing instructions exactly. If you wash it at a temperature above 30°C, the material may fade. Don't spin dry the cover
and under no circumstances put it in a tumble drier (the material may separate from the upholstery). The plastic insert
can stay in the cover during washing.
