Firmware update via memory card

This document explains the procedure for updating the firmware of the unit.
To load firmware to the unit the memory card must be SD HC (High Capacity).
Do not load the firmware in the rain. To insert the memory card into the inverter is necessary to
unclip the protective cover of the card reader, whereby the unit's protection rating against external
elements is reduced until said item is reinstalled.

Inverter Update Process

1. Check the firmware version installed on the inverter via its display. Click
up the main menu, then select Inverter data. View the version indicated in the FW APP field. The firmware
version will be the XXXXXXX_B type, where _B indicates the version of the file. The first version will be _ and
will continue with _A, _B, ..., AA, AB, AC, etc.
2. Check whether the firmware version available on the internet is newer than that installed in the inverter. If
the version installed on the inverter matches the version available on the internet, it is not necessary to update
the firmware. To check -and download where necessary- the latest firmware, go to the Ingeteam website (www.
ingeteam.com). On the website go to Energy > Photovoltaic energy, go to the section of the inverter model and
then to the Downloads area. Then click See all. Here you will find the .zip file that contains the files needed to
load the firmware. Download and save the file to a known location on the hard disk.
3. The firmware is updated using a SD HC type memory card (not supplied by Ingeteam). You must have
this type of card formatted in FAT32 format. The card should not contain files and should always be formatted
when you want to update the firmware of the inverter. To format the memory card in this format when working
in Windows 7:
a. Insert the card into the card reader connected to your computer.
b. Click on the Windows start button and access Computer.
c. A window with all available disk drives appears. Find the memory card, right-click on its icon and
select Format.
d. Select FAT32 format and Start.
e. Accept the security warning to confirm the start of the formatting.
f. Wait until the format confirmation message appears and close the window.
4. Unzip the files downloaded from the Ingeteam website in the root directory of the memory card.
a. Ensure that the card is still inserted in the card reader connected to the computer.
