8. Installation
8.1 Safety standards
In order to safeguard your safety and the safety of other people during the installation or the maintenance of the
pump, the following instructions must be followed:
A) It is of fundamental importance that the installation is completed by qualified personnel (*);
B) The product must not be used by people (including children) with physical, sensory,
or mental disabilities, or by people lacking the necessary experience and knowledge,
unless appropriately supervised and instructed by qualified personnel;
C) Keep the product away from children;
D) Do not ignore the dangers for health and comply with the hygiene standards;
E) All personnel working in dirty water pumping stations must be vaccinated for any pos-
sible diseases that may be transmitted through injuries, contact, or inhalation;
F) In order to avoid contact of the skin with contaminated liquid, wear appropriate
clothes and shoes. Also use appropriate slinging, a safety rope, a safety helmet,
safety goggles, and a gas mask whenever necessary, as well as any required and ap-
propriate personal protection equipment based on the risk plan applicable for the
installation;
G) Do not ignore the danger of drowning. Never work on your own; even in optimum
conditions the presence of another operator outside the tank is recommended;
H) Ensure appropriate delimitation, of the area, with barriers and signs around the
working area, especially for those areas subjected to transit;
I) Ensure the efficiency of descent and rise equipment, and the possibility of a quick
return to the open air;
J) Ensure that in the tank there is sufficient oxygen and that there are no poisonous
gases;
K) Before any other interventions on the lifting station, pay the utmost attention to ensure
that all the electric cables in the tank are disconnected from the power supply.
L) The installation must always include a connection with an automatic system with float
(see the subsequent sections).
The use of this User Manual does not cancel or make void any general standard
regulations that may not be specified in the same. All the general safety rules and the
general good practice rules must be followed.
IIN CASE OF ANY DOUBTS ALWAYS CONTACT A TECHNICIAN QUALIFIED BY
DRENO POMPE (*) OR DIRECTLY THE TECHNICAL SUPPORT OF DRENO POMPE AT
NO. +39 0429 73276 OR BY E-MAIL TO:
ufficiotecnico@drenopompe.it
(*) a technician qualified by Dreno Pompe would be an individual possessing a Dreno Pompe qualified
technician certificate.
Personal protection equipment (PPE) must always be used.
The user of the pump is in charge of carrying out appropriate analysis on the lightning risks,
and of putting in place the appropriate measures in accordance with the IEC EN 62305-1/4
series standard, and the most appropriate index risk.
8.2 For correct installation
The suction of the pump must be at the lowest point of the tank.
To ensure correct performance, we recommend that the pump is connected using a pipe with a nominal dia-
meter not smaller than the pump delivery.
Pay the utmost attention to ensure that the pump does not drown in mud. Place the pump
on its appropriate base, or attach it to the appropriate coupling foot as shown in the figure
below. The electric equipment installed outside the well must be appropriately protected
from weather conditions and placed in a safe location.
