1) Open the lid by pressing on the release button 1.
2) Fill the appliance with water up to the MAX marking and let it come to a
full boil once – as described in the next section.
3) After it has boiled, pour this water away.
4) Rinse the kettle out with clear water.
5) Fill the appliance with water once again, up to the MAX marking, and
then bring it to boil. When done, pour this water away also.
The appliance is now ready for use.

Boiling water

RISK - ELECTRICAL SHOCK!
Never place the electrical base 4 close to water – this would be a
potentially fatal risk!
For safety reasons you should not open the lid when the water is boiling or
extremely hot. There is a risk of scalding.
Always use freshly drawn water. Do not consume any water that has
already stood in the kettle for longer than one hour. Do not reboil water
that has cooled down. Always pour old water away. Microbes could
have formed in it!
NOTE
Always ensure that the ON/OFF switch 3 is turned to „ 0" when the mains
plug is unplugged and the device is standing on the base 4. If not, the
device could heat up unintendedly as soon as the mains plug is plugged in
again.
1) Lift the kettle off of the base when fi lling it!
2) Press the unlocking button 1 and open the lid.
NOTE
When fi lling it, hold the kettle upright. This is the only way to read the
markings on the scale 2 correctly.
